Ooops.... sorry for being hasty. For those who took the time to go to the Threadless site to judge my t-shirt design for The Moby Threadless comp and couldn't; It's pending approval which may take up to 4 days. (yuk!) So I'll update the ol' blogger when the darn design is sitting pretty next to the other fine artists which you should check out as well. Some really great entries in this one.

EDIT- The entry is now up and running. I received some cool feedback which is always encouraging. I even got a shot out from my aunt Mike.... Yes I have an aunt Mike. :O

I just submitted my first T-shirt design over at Threadless. I'm happy with it. Although I wish that I knew ahead of time that there was a limit of 8 colors. I spent about 4 hours on the whole thing and ended up with a color cast of 25. I narrowed it down to 6 and think I acheived the same result that I wanted.

Our record is now on itunes. Show a brotha some love and buy a track or two. From what I hear the whole record is neat. Some remixes are in the process as well. Get ready for the maxy single!

On the subject on copyright infringement, another group of tools with no imagination just ripped off a handful of illustrators by plagerizing their work then releasing the book online for 100.00. There are 350 beautiful illustrations that these tools mocked up because the files are extremely low res making the artists that worked on them look bad which is even worse.

Pass the word along to make sure these guys get their balls placed in a slingshot to be hurled 200 MPH into a brick wall. You know.... as to not make little baby plagerizers.

This just chaps my ass. Another way for companies to control the creativity of the individual by undersigning every artist to a corporate copyright industry instead of having a means to copyright it soly.

Something unexpected happened to me (I should say us) in the past few months.

Let me first start off by saying that I've been working on some music during the past 2 years with some very close friends of mine from LA. It's a mix of electronic drum and bass, ambient meditative themes and indie rock. Texturally it's far more descriptive so I apologize for the generic labeling. My buddy Reggie came up with the group's name.. chess. <--- Link coming soon....

Another friend and writing partner from LA actually put together a record release party for us that's being held at Corey Helford's art gallery. He's also celebrating the kickoff of the record label he started for the project called Alien Soup Kitchen the same night. We are all very stoked about this. I mean we're talking music industry people, security, open bar to 200 people :huh: This quite possibly could be a door of vast opportunity for us. I literally fly out to LA in about 7 hours to party it up Saturday night.

I'm very grateful for this blossoming on its own because word of mouth is what made this happen aside from everyone's 110% effort that was envolved. It's my best writing and programming to date.

Revamped and ready for action!

Farawaynearby Animation is now it its version 2 state with a plethora of new goodies like drawings, odd experiments, new music and the occasional hidden treat through out.

This is something that I'll be obsessing over for the rest of my artistic stay on this world wide collective conscious experience that we call the internet.

I'm looking for some crits and stuff to improve the site a bit better. The home page is a little empty I know and I'm working on some final sound effects for some of the buttons and doo hickies.

STAND UP SANTA

My sister elle is doing great in Greenfield with her swing jazz group Ghost Quartet. She's been doing some consistent gigging with these lads and had a fantastic turn out yesterday afternoon following this gig.

I'll be sure to post more but in the meantime, dig on this stantard.

Turn Table attachment for Cintiq 21 UX.

This site is pretty cool. A man by the name of Antonio Gonella created a mount for the Cintiq that allows you to practically mount this thing anywhere you want. His blog shows you how he routed the hole and screwed the mount on his desk. Dan Goldman's blog mentions that he had this one customized by Antonio.



The site Turntable is where you can find a more expensive one priced at 199.99 which I believe is a little pricey. I like the compactness of the customized one and hope that it will be made available to the general public.

I hope that I don't seem like a spokes person for wacom, however I felt that this video clip would be cool for artists to check out. It's the mini version of the cintiq 21UX called the 12WX. It has all the primary functionality that the 21UX offers, and is a lot more portable and affordable.

Well It's that time again.... time for the corporate sham to spin it's wheels faster than it did last year resulting in our ultimate demises financially. I try not to spend much around the holidays, but I always find myself broke come January for the appeasement of others.

Thankfully I found a nice healthy block of time to schedule out for yet another Christmas Flash piece that I've titled "Stand Up Santa".

This is an idea I've had in my head for quite some time. It's basically a stand up comedy show in a cartoon format. The age group would definitely be Adult Swim and up and will deepen in it's growth when im finished with the first couple of skits.

But for now, please allow me to show you the progress of the gag thus far.

Santa's all separated out in preparation to become animatiated.


Modeled in 3dsmax 8 and very crudely may I add. Not liking the door but I'm sure to go back in and fix it.




This is how I'd like the final color composite to be. These are just tests to get the environment in mind.

Done with Photoshop CS3

Holy shit... That's all I have to say. My Cintiq has arrived and this thing is bigger than I thought it would be. I had to clear some desk space to fit this bad boy in my studio. At last minute I thought to myself, I should take out my camera and make a quick little animation of the box opening and the Cintiq popping out. But as you can tell by the short vid I made, I just wanted to open the thing up and play with it.



I have to admit that drawing on this will take a little less time to get use to than the Intuos tablets. It only took a night really. After calibrating the pen and the screen to my liking, I just took off and made a this quickie in Photoshop.

3 hours of noodling around.

This is the closest thing that comes to drawing on paper. I removed the pen nib that is supplied with it and popped in the #2 pencil nib and it blew my mind. A non-slippery surface to draw on put my mind at ease.

I don't have the worlds best camera as of yet so i apologize for the poor picture quality. But here it is in all its glory sitting pretty at my Creation Station.

Well today couldn't be any better. I can actually feel my physical body transmuting itself into an self perpetuating artistic machine. Why is this you ask? Well i just ordered my brand spanking new Cintiq 21UX. It should reach my doorstep 3 days from this post so I'll post back here as soon as that bad bitchum arrives at my doorstep. But in the meantime, I'll have to just stare at this picture of one.
